The IT specialist IPG Automotive won second place at the innovation competition TOP 100.
The award ceremony took place on June 24 as part of the 7th German SME Summit in Frankfurt.
The science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar acknowledged IPG Automotive, IT company from Karlsruhe, for its success in the innovation competition TOP 100. In the preceding scientific selection process, the medium-sized company was especially convincing in the category “innovation success” and even made second place in the size category C (more than 200 employees).
With its simulation software, the expert for virtual vehicle development has a major impact on the development of new technologies in the automotive sector – from alternative drivetrains to advanced driver assistance systems to autonomous driving. The simulation software CarMaker for example enables to simulate all vehicle components and to integrate sensor technologies into the virtual prototype. This makes the development process more agile, efficient and cost-effective. With the simulation method “vehicle-in-the-loop”, test drives with real vehicles can be performed in a simulated environment thanks to a combination of software and hardware. “We always had a passion for technology and realized early on that there was a huge potential for simulation software in the market”, emphasizes CEO Steffen Schmidt. “I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the company. I am convinced that, based on the continuous innovation drive of all employees, we will achieve stellar successes in the future as well.”
